2006 King's Anniversary

357th Anniversary of the King's death

This event was slightly different from previous years as the area of the Town Hall that houses the Association's memorial plaque was closed for painting and decoration.

Association President David Slater therefore laid the commemorative wreath beneath the King's portrait in the King Charles Room at Kidderminster Town Hall on Monday 30th January 2006.

The ceremony was led by Rev Owain Bell, Vicar of the St Mary's and All Saints Church, Kidderminster.

 All those present

The turnout wasn't quite as good as that of last year, but some dozen or so of us were there and were invited to light refreshments by the Town Mayor, Cllr Peter Dyke, as seen above. The only person present not seen here is, as usual, Association Secretary Martin Humphries, happier behind the camera lens than in front of it!
