SUMMARY:2026 Remembrance Service
DESCRIPTION:The Annual Remembrance Service will take place on Wednesday 11th November 2026 from 2:30 pm for 3 pm in the former Woodfield Hall\, Bewdley Road\, hosted by prospective President Nigel Geary. \nA short remembrance service to commemorate the sacrifice made by boys from the School in the two World Wars\, plus those that have fallen in subsequent battles\, will be held.  The ceremony\, featuring an order of service by past President Arthur Miller\, will take place in front of the stained glass window\, at which a poppy wreath will be laid by Nigel Geary\, the prospective President. \nThe invitation to attend is extended to all those eligible for membership\, which now includes ex-pupils of Kidderminster High School for Girls and Queen Elizabeth I Grammar School\, Hartlebury.  Please note: as the hall is now part of a dance studio\, to protect the floor\, it is requested that no high heels be worn.

SUMMARY:2026 Annual Dinner
DESCRIPTION:The 116th Annual Dinner will take place on Saturday 21st November from 6:30 pm for 7:30 pm until 11:30 pm in the Oldfield Hall\, King Charles I School\, hosted by prospective President Nigel Geary. \nTickets cost £40 each\, and are available to Association members and those eligible for membership; please consult David Simons on … if unsure.  In addition to a starter\, main course and pudding\, cheese and biscuits plus tea and coffee will be served.  Application forms were included with The Old Carolian\, a copy of this year’s edition you should have received by no later than\, we trust\, the end of October; however\, you may request a(nother) form by contacting David Simons.  You may find it easier to book TBD; clicking on this link opens a ‘fill-in-the-blanks’ message and gives details to pay by bank transfer. \nApplications will be accepted until 5 pm on Friday 13th November or until all places are allocated\, whichever is the sooner. \n\nIndividual places will not be set\, but there will be a semi-formal seating plan to group those of similar ages; therefore\, please ensure when booking that you provide the year(s) in which you (and your fellow guests\, if doing a group booking) started at the School.  In a break with recent tradition\, the tables may well be arranged as ‘islands’ this year.\nThe dress code is evening wear for ladies\, and lounge suit and tie\, or dinner jacket\, for gentlemen.\nThe entrance will be along the outside of the Renwick building (with the pond on your right)\, and through the double doors at the bottom of the steps that link the Renwick building corridor with the Oldfield Hall.\nNo classrooms will be open for storing personal effects\, and so please use the tuck shop\, opposite the double doors into the Hall.\nThere will be no bar service\, and so please bring your own refreshments; a selection of glasses will be provided\, though.\n\nThe Committee members look forward to seeing you for what always promises to be a lovely evening.
