An Extraordinary General Meeting took place on Wednesday 17th April from 7:30 pm at Chester Road Sports and Social Club, hosted by President John Hall.

Extraordinary General Meeting

Despite a fairly low turnout, and after some healthy discussion, the rules' change was formally proposed, and was carried unanimously.  The new set is now in force.

On membership eligibility, the recommendation was to alter this section:

'(a) All former pupils of the School;

(b) All present and former members of staff of the School.

(c) Subject to the approval of the Committee, any person who has given exceptional service to the School, and/or the Association.'

where 'the School' means 'King Charles I School'.

to:

'(a) all former pupils of the Schools;

(b) all present and former staff members of the Schools; and

(c) anyone that has given exceptional service to the Schools and/or the Association, subject to the Committee’s approval.'

where 'the Schools' means 'the School, and the now-defunct institutions of King Charles I Grammar School for Boys, Kidderminster; Kidderminster High School for Girls; and Queen Elizabeth I Grammar School, Hartlebury – all three of which amalgamated in September 1977 to form the School as it is known today'.

In addition to this important update, the rules had generally required a 'tidy', and this, also, has been included in the publication of the new set, to be found here.

The regular Committee meeting followed, and the three non-Committee members that had attended the EGM were invited to stay.
