Lucy Torode died on 28th July. She taught at Lax Lane School, Bewdley and Kidderminster High School for Girls in the 1950s, and subsequently at Sion Hill School in the 1960s, becoming Head of History at the new Wolverley High School in 1970.

Lucy was known for her genuine love of history combined with thorough research, and her interesting and thoughtful discussions with pupils, friends and family alike.
The funeral, a celebration of Lucy's life, will be held at St John the Baptist's Church, Wolverley on Friday 19th August at 2 pm, and afterwards in the adjacent village hall. All that knew Lucy are welcome; sombre clothes are not necessary. No flowers, please; donations to Amnesty International.
