It is with great sadness that we report the terribly sad news that Martin Jones, of the class of 1966, died on 19th October.

We have received the very sad news of the death of Martin on 19th October 2023. He had suffered some heart-related setbacks in recent years. He was seemingly well on the way to recovery, but was tragically taken ill while driving close to home in Brierley Hill, West Midlands.
A graduate of the University of Birmingham (Electronic & Electrical Engineering), Martin spent his entire career at King Edward VI Grammar School (later King Edward VI College), Stourbridge as Head of Maths and Senior Tutor. He was an active sportsman – football, cricket and golf – and a keen supporter of Aston Villa.
Martin was happily married to Orian, then a Summerfield student, from 1971 until she sadly passed away in 2019. After his loss, Martin was supported by, and is now survived by, their three children, Becky, Ben and Matt, and six grandchildren.
The funeral service will take place at 11:40 am on 28th November at Stourbridge Crematorium.
